Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an evaluation take?+
Most evaluations are completed in 1-2 hours. The process includes a play-based assessment using gold-standard tools like the ADOS-2, CARS-2, and Vineland. Results and recommendations are reviewed in a separate virtual meeting with the provider.
Does my child need a referral?+
No referral is required to schedule an evaluation. You can contact us directly, and our intake team will guide you through the process, including insurance verification and documentation.
What if my child does not receive a diagnosis?+
Not every evaluation results in a diagnosis, and that is completely okay. Our psychologists will still provide detailed feedback on your child's development and recommend next steps, whether that includes monitoring, therapy, or other supports.
Is the evaluation available in Spanish?+
Yes. Services are available in English and Spanish at all of our locations in New Jersey and North Carolina.
What happens after the diagnosis?+
After a diagnosis is confirmed, our team handles insurance pre-authorization, documentation, and scheduling so your child can begin ABA therapy services as quickly as possible. Most families begin services within a few weeks.
How is this different from a pediatrician screening?+
A pediatrician screening is a brief check that flags potential concerns. Our evaluation is a comprehensive, multi-hour assessment conducted by a licensed psychologist using standardized diagnostic instruments. It provides a formal diagnosis and a detailed, individualized plan for your child.
